Effective date: August 8, 2026
Program name: Hearing-Doctors Patient Messaging, operated by Hearing-Doctors (American Hearing Associates LLC), an audiology practice with offices in Hazlehurst, Swainsboro, and Thomson, Georgia.
1. Program Description
When you opt in to Hearing-Doctors Patient Messaging, we may send you text (SMS/MMS) messages related to your care, including appointment reminders and confirmations, reschedule links, patient-care notifications (for example, that your hearing aids are ready for pickup), and post-visit feedback requests.
2. How You Opt In
Patients opt in by providing a mobile number and giving verbal consent during appointment scheduling or check-in (in office or by phone), or written consent on our intake form. Consent is recorded before any message is sent. Consent to receive text messages is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving care, goods, or services.
3. Message Frequency and Rates
Message frequency varies with your care — typically 1–4 messages per appointment. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. Check with your carrier for details.
4. Opting Out and Getting Help
You can cancel the SMS service at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send STOP, we will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further messages. To rejoin, simply let our staff know at your next visit or call, and we will re-enroll you.
If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, reply HELP to any message for assistance, call us at 912-386-1023, or email gpitt@hearing-doctors.com.
5. Privacy
We do not share your mobile phone number, text messaging consent, or opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except for vendors acting on our behalf to deliver messages, who are bound by written agreements to safeguard your information. As a healthcare practice, we also protect your information under HIPAA — see our Notice of Privacy Practices.
6. Supported Carriers and Liability
The program is available on major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your mobile carrier and is outside our control.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its effective date at the top. Continued participation in the program after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
