At Hearing-Doctors, your hearing aids are selected, fitted, and maintained by Dr. Gabriel Pitt, Au.D. — a third-generation provider whose family has fit hearing aids in Georgia since 1959.

What to expect at your visit

Getting hearing aids with us is a process, not a transaction. It works in three steps:

• Consultation. It starts with a hearing evaluation and an honest conversation. Dr. Pitt explains what your hearing test shows and which styles of hearing aid make sense for your loss, your lifestyle, and your hands. The consultation is free, and you can trial hearing aids before you commit.
• Fitting. Your hearing aids are programmed to your exact hearing prescription — not an out-of-the-box preset. Dr. Pitt fine-tunes them while you listen, so voices sound natural and comfortable before you walk out the door.
• Follow-up. Hearing takes a few weeks to adjust to amplification. Your follow-up visits are where small annoyances get fixed — a whistle here, a too-loud restaurant there — and where your aids get cleaned and checked.

Repairs, reprogramming, and everyday service

We take care of hearing aids for the long haul. We provide in-office repairs, cleanings, adjustments, and reprogramming — and we service all hearing aids, regardless of age, brand, or where you bought them. If a repair needs the manufacturer, we handle the send-off and keep you informed.

Have an old pair sitting in a drawer because they whistle, went quiet, or "never worked right"? Bring them in. Getting a non-working hearing aid back on your ear — or figuring out why it never helped — is some of the most satisfying work we do.

Batteries and wax guards are available at all three offices any time we're open — weekdays in Thomson and Hazlehurst, Thursdays in Swainsboro. No appointment needed. Just come by.

If your hearing aid has stopped working, don't put it in a drawer. Most problems are small: a clogged wax guard, a bad receiver, a battery door. Bring it in and let us look.
